Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
This policy explains how The Home Fix Guide handles information when you visit thehomefixguide.com or contact us. For privacy questions, email admin@thehomefixguide.com.
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address, the name displayed by your email account, and the information and attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond, investigate corrections, and maintain relevant correspondence. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or unnecessary personal documents.
Technical information
Our hosting and security services process technical request information to deliver the website, identify errors, and protect it from abuse. This can include IP addresses, requested URLs, request times, browser information, and response status. Hostinger provides our hosting services; see Hostinger’s privacy information. Technical records and backups may be handled under the applicable service’s retention settings.
Cookies and saved guides
WordPress uses cookies for functions such as administrator login. Hosting or security features may also use browser storage needed to operate or protect the site. You can review or clear site data through your browser settings; blocking storage may affect functionality.
The My Saved feature stores saved article titles and URLs in your browser’s local storage under the key thfg-saved-guides-v1. This feature does not create a reader account or sync saved guides between devices. Remove individual guides in My Saved or clear this site’s browser data to remove the saved list. Unless removed, local storage can remain between visits.
Email and newsletter features
Our public contact address uses Gmail. Messages are therefore handled by our email service provider as well as by the website operator. See Google’s privacy policy for information about its services. Newsletter subscriptions are not currently offered on this website. The sidebar provides links to published guides instead of an email signup form. Hostinger Reach components may load as part of the website’s installed software. We will update this notice and provide the relevant signup information before activating newsletter collection.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 through Site Kit to understand which guides visitors read and how they reach this website. Analytics processes page views, session information, browser and device information, approximate location, and interactions such as outbound link clicks or file downloads when supported by enhanced measurement. It uses first-party cookies, including _ga, to distinguish browsers and sessions. Logged-in WordPress users are excluded by our Site Kit setting.
See Google’s explanation of Analytics data collection and Google’s privacy policy. You can control cookies in your browser and use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on in supported browsers.
Advertising and affiliate links
AdSense script placement through Site Kit is currently disabled. As of October 16, 2026, our AdSense account has not been approved. Google Analytics remains enabled as described above. Loading Google code can send technical request information, such as the page URL and IP address, to Google. See Google privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services.
Some articles contain paid links to Amazon. These links include referral identifiers associated with this website. When you follow a link, Amazon handles information on its site under its Privacy Notice. Our use of Google Analytics to measure outbound link clicks is described in the Google Analytics section above. Before enabling Google ad delivery, we will update this policy to describe the actual providers, data use, and available choices, and configure any consent controls that apply.
If Google advertising is enabled on this website, third-party vendors, including Google, may place and read cookies in your browser to serve ads based on previous visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on those visits. In that situation, ad serving may also involve web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers.
You can manage or opt out of Google’s personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings, and opt out of interest-based advertising from participating third-party vendors through WebChoices. These choices do not necessarily stop all advertising. See how Google processes personal information.
Embedded videos and third-party content
Some guides currently embed third-party videos, including YouTube players served from the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain. Loading or interacting with embedded content can still involve requests to the provider and processing under that provider’s policies. Where a ‘Load video’ control is provided, selecting it loads the player. Other embedded players may load as the page is viewed or scrolled, before you press Play. Reading the written instructions does not necessarily prevent requests to the provider.
We use embedded material as a reference or demonstration and identify the source near the player. An embedded video is not footage recorded by The Home Fix Guide unless we explicitly say so.
External sites
Our articles link to sources and other websites. When you follow a link, the destination’s privacy practices apply. Embedded third-party content may send technical information to its provider when loaded, as described above. We will consider those data flows when adding new features.
Access, sharing, and retention
Information may be accessed by the website operator and the service providers involved in hosting, email delivery, security, and administration. It may also need to be disclosed to comply with a lawful requirement or investigate misuse. Service providers may process data in countries different from your own.
We retain correspondence for the time needed to handle the inquiry and related follow-up, subject to any applicable legal or security needs. Retention in provider logs and backups depends on the relevant service configuration; we do not promise immediate deletion from every backup.
Your choices and requests
You can contact us to ask about personal information you have provided, request a correction, or request deletion. Depending on the laws that apply to you, additional rights may be available. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. Please identify the relevant correspondence without sending sensitive identity documents unless specifically requested through an appropriate process.
You can also control cookies and local storage in your browser, remove saved guides, and choose what information to include in an email. Browser settings do not necessarily prevent ordinary server request logging.
Updates
We will revise this page when relevant features or data practices change and update the date above. Questions about this notice can be sent to admin@thehomefixguide.com.
